Hi everyone! Sarah here, 7th and 8th grade art in a mid-size district in central Virginia. This is my sixth year teaching and my first with WiseBoard. I signed up in May after a colleague who teaches English kept talking about the lesson planning tools. Art teachers do not always feel like classroom management software is designed with us in mind, so I went in with moderate expectations. I have been pleasantly surprised. The behavior documentation side works well for me even in a studio setting…

Welcome! I teach science so the project-based approach resonates. For the gradebook with project work, I do a mix of rubric scores for each phase and then a final score for the artifact. WiseBoard handles that well once you set up the assignment with the right rubric structure. Worth experimenting with before September.

Another electives-leaning teacher here. I teach 5th grade but we are a project-heavy school and I had the same gradebook questions. The way I handle it is treating each rubric criterion as a separate scored item. Feels a little rigid at first but it gives you real data over time.
