Acceptable Use Policy

You may use WiseBoard only for lawful classroom, administrative, and educational purposes that are appropriate for a school environment. You will comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws, including FERPA, COPPA, and your district's student-data and acceptable-use policies.

You will not upload, transmit, store, or generate (including via AI features) content that:

• Is unlawful, defamatory, obscene, sexually explicit, or pornographic;
• Sexualizes a minor in any form, or constitutes child sexual abuse material (CSAM);
• Threatens, harasses, bullies, intimidates, or stalks any person, including students or staff;
• Promotes self-harm, suicide, or eating disorders;
• Promotes or facilitates illegal activity, terrorism, or violence;
• Discriminates against, dehumanizes, or incites hatred toward a person or group on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, or veteran status;
• Infringes any third party's intellectual-property, publicity, or privacy rights;
• Contains malware, ransomware, exploit code, or other malicious payloads;
• Constitutes confidential information of a third party that you are not authorized to share.

We reserve the right (but have no obligation) to remove any content that, in our sole judgment, violates this AUP, and to report such content to law enforcement where required by law (including the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children for any suspected CSAM, as required by 18 U.S.C. § 2258A).

You will not, and will not permit any user under your account to:

• Probe, scan, penetration-test, or otherwise attempt to compromise the integrity, availability, or security of WiseBoard or any related systems without our prior written consent;
• Access any account, data, or system that you are not authorized to access;
• Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to derive source code or trade secrets from any part of the Service, except to the limited extent expressly permitted by applicable law;
• Scrape, crawl, mass-download, or use automated means to extract data from the Service, except through APIs we explicitly publish for that purpose and within their published rate limits;
• Resell, sublicense, white-label, or commercially redistribute the Service, or use it to provide a service-bureau or competing service to third parties, without our prior written consent;
• Use the Service to develop or train any machine-learning model that competes with WiseBoard or with any AI feature of the Service;
• Bypass or attempt to bypass any usage limits, paywalls, license restrictions, or rate limits;
• Send unsolicited bulk email, spam, or chain communications through any messaging or invitation feature;
• Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation with a school, district, parent, or student;
• Use the Service in any manner that could interfere with, disable, overburden, or impair its operation, including denial-of-service attacks or excessive automated requests;
• Use the Service for any illegal, harmful, or fraudulent purpose, or in violation of the export controls or sanctions laws of the United States.

If you are a teacher, administrator, or district user, you are responsible for ensuring that your use of WiseBoard with student data complies with FERPA, COPPA, and any applicable state student-data-privacy law. In particular, you will:

• Not enter student personally identifiable information into freeform fields that we do not need (e.g., do not paste social security numbers, financial information, immigration status, or non-educational health diagnoses);
• Use WiseBoard's Anonymous Code or Student-ID modes if your district has not signed a Data Privacy Agreement (DPA) with us;
• Honor parent and student rights to inspect, review, and request correction of records routed through your district;
• Not redisclose student personal information you obtain through WiseBoard except as permitted by FERPA and your district's policies.

WiseBoard's AI features (collectively, "Pip") use third-party large-language-model providers (currently OpenAI) under a zero-retention enterprise tier. When you use Pip:

• Treat AI output as a draft, not a finished product. Review every AI-generated lesson plan, comment, sub plan, or message before sharing it with students or parents.
• Do not paste content into Pip that you would not be allowed to disclose under FERPA, HIPAA, or your district policies. Where Pip needs roster context (e.g., sub plans, seating summaries), WiseBoard automatically de-identifies and aggregates the data before sending it to the AI provider.
• Do not use Pip to generate content prohibited by Section 2 above, or to circumvent safety filters, produce instructions for harmful acts, or produce content that targets specific students with negative inferences.
• Do not represent AI-generated output as the work of a specific student.

If you become aware of a violation of this AUP ; including a security vulnerability, abuse, harassment, CSAM, or any other safety concern ; report it immediately to info@mywiseboardclassroom.com. For security vulnerabilities, please follow the coordinated-disclosure process described in our Security page. We treat reports confidentially.

We may, at our sole discretion and with or without notice, (a) investigate any suspected violation of this AUP, (b) remove or disable access to violating content, (c) suspend or terminate offending accounts (including those of users sharing an account or organization), (d) preserve and disclose information to law enforcement where required or permitted by law, and (e) seek any other remedy available to us under the Terms of Service or applicable law. We are not obligated to monitor user content but reserve the right to do so.

Our failure to enforce this AUP in any particular instance is not a waiver of our right to enforce it later. The remedies in this AUP are in addition to, not in lieu of, any other remedies available to us.

We may update this AUP from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be posted with reasonable notice. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised AUP.
