Game-based history

Clan Quest Lesson Guide for TeachersTurn the expedition into an evidence lesson.

Clan Quest can be more than a race to survive. Choose a classroom-length path, prepare student materials and use the guide to focus discussion on historical claims, evidence and reasoning rather than game score.

01 / THE DIFFERENCE

Made for the way
teaching actually works.

Practical tools that leave the decisions with you.

01

Choose a realistic lesson length

Compare Quick, Standard and Extended paths with classroom timing before you decide how much of the expedition fits today.

02

Print only what your class needs

Use the complete packet or print individual student and assessment materials for the way you plan to teach.

03

Assess the thinking, not the score

Keep assessment centered on claim, evidence, reasoning, historical understanding and collaboration.

02 / IN PRACTICE

From idea to
classroom-ready.

A CLASSROOM MOMENT

WHAT THIS COULD LOOK LIKE

Debrief a migration decision

Before play, ask students what evidence might support a route choice. During the expedition, note decisions to revisit. Afterward, have students connect one choice to evidence and explain its limits instead of treating survival points as a history grade.

GOOD TO KNOW

Questions, answered.

A little more detail before you dive in.

Does the guide assess the game score?

No. The recommended assessment focuses on historical reasoning, evidence, understanding and collaboration, not survival score.

Can students see the teacher reference?

Keep the spoiler-aware reference private. The guide advises against showing it in the student lobby.
